Hello there!
Ever fancied trying out KodeKloud courses but need some reassurance?
I was in the same boat, but let me share a few insights about KodeKloud that might give you some clarity to make a right decision.
How many DevOps courses did you take just to watch the videos and stand there clueless without knowing what to do next?
When it comes to learning DevOps, many of us would have struggled to bridge the gap between textbook knowledge and practical application.
That’s where KodeKloud will help us. To learn DevOps in a more practical way.
Forget passive lectures and dry tutorials. KodeKloud immerses you in real-world simulations.
They have structured learning paths with valuable content and different types of practical exercises that just enriches the overall learning experience.
In this KodeKloud review, we’ll see about it’s features, pros and potential drawbacks, coursework, instructors, customer support and more. I’ll also let you know what subscription plan I choose and why.
Let’s find out if KodeKloud can help you fill the missing puzzle piece in your DevOps mastery quest.
My Journey with KodeKloud
Once upon a time, I was looking for DevOps courses on Udemy. That’s where I heard about someone cool called Mumshad Mannambeth.
Turns out, he runs this awesome DevOps learning platform called KodeKloud!
I started checking out KodeKloud and watched their videos on YouTube. I learned a bunch of neat stuff from them.
Then, guess what? They had this super cool free week offer! I got to try out their premium courses and practice labs, but only for a limited-time. It was so cool, I was really amazed!
I got curious and did some research to see what else they have.
I found this thing called the KodeKloud Engineer program and tried it. Oh boy, it was mind-blowing! I tried the free version and it comes with some limitations. It made me think about getting a pro subscription because it was that awesome.
I also wanted to check out KodeKloud’s playgrounds and some pro courses. But those were available only for the people with a pro subscription plan.
So, after thinking a lot, I finally went for the pro plan for a whole year. Since then, I’ve been learning lots every single day!
I can’t help but give a shoutout to the KodeKloud crew for creating such a killer platform. Thanks to my fellow learners for being awesome companions on this journey.
Honestly, I’m itching to dive deeper, keep learning, and grow even more as a DevOps whiz!
Pros and Cons
Positives
Offers learning paths for various skill levels and roles. This ensures a structured approach to learning.
Emphasizes hands-on experience through labs and simulations. Allows us to apply the theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Provides high-quality courses developed by industry professionals and subject matter experts.
Offers flexible pricing plans and a variety of courses that cater to individual and organizational needs.
Negatives
Occasional technical issues such as slow loading times and bugs on the platform, particularly on labs.
Varying levels of instructor responsiveness and interaction.
No live classes.
Limited availability of free content and practice labs.
Coursework & Curriculum
KodeKloud offers a wide range of courses in a variety of different topics, including but not limited to DevOps, Kubernetes, Linux, AWS, GCP, Docker and more.
I loved the way KodeKloud has set its course structure. All the courses on KodeKloud are well-developed and cover the topics in detail.
Every KodeKloud course will start with the basics and steadily moves to advanced topics. It can also help us clear some industry recognised certifications like CKA, CKS, etc.
After the self-learning part, we can take practice labs (hands-on labs) and mock exams.
I felt that was a good mix of theory and practical exercises. It was balanced well.
I also liked kodekloud’s learning paths. There are role based and domain based learning paths. It’ll give you a clarity to understand what you should learn next to level up.
For example, if you want to become a DevOps engineer, you can choose the DevOps Engineer learning path. Based on your current skillset and the number of hours that you can spend each day, it’ll give you a customised learning path and the time you’ll need to complete it to upgrade yourself to the next level.
So, KodeKloud courses won’t give you a feeling of just another course, where you keep on watching plain videos and go just like that.
KodeKloud course content was quite engaging and insightful to me. They also update the courses regularly, so I was even able to learn about the current best DevOps practices.
Exploring KodeKloud Playgrounds
KodeKloud playgrounds are interactive environments or sandboxes provided by the platform.
Imagine a place where you can play with technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP and more. That’s what KodeKloud playgrounds are like!
Without paying any extra cost, you can use the cloud platforms like Azure in real time and learn as much as you want, in a safe and controlled environment.
With KodeKloud Pro plan, you can get access to all the 3 cloud playgrounds and 60+ DevOps playgrounds.
It made the learning experience more interactive compared to watching theoretical videos.
The KodeKloud playgrounds are awesome! I bet you’ll love them too.
KodeKloud Engineer Pro – My Favourite
This is my #1 reason to subscribe for a KodeKloud Pro plan.
KodeKloud Engineer is a fantastic program through which we can gain practical real work experience on the different technologies that we learn.
There’ll be a fictional company where you can work on a project as a engineer. You’ll be assigned roles just like a real company.
Most probably, you’ll start as a system administrator. You can complete the tasks which’ll be similar to what you’ll receive in a company for that particular role and get experience points.
You’ll be promoted to higher levels like DevOps engineer and then cloud architect based on the points.
Good thing is you’re not alone. If you’re stuck with any task, you can request a review. And then other members on KodeKloud Engineer platform can see your work, go through it and provide valuable feedback to help you.
You can also review other people work and collect bonus points that’ll help you level up.
KodeKloud Engineer program is also available for free. You can try it out here. But with the free version, you’ll get only one task a day. And after completing it, you have to wait for 24 hours to receive the next one.
But with a KodeKloud Pro subscription plan, you can upgrade to KodeKloud Engineer Pro version in which you’ll be assigned with the next task immediately after completing the previous one.
It’s fun! Seriously, it’s like gamified learning where every task completed feels like a win. And that constant sense of progress kept me hooked and hungry for more knowledge.
I haven’t seen something like this in other learning platforms. It is a great opportunity to work on real-world scenarios in a company with some added fun. Because there’s no one to fire you. You can make mistakes over and over, learn from it, and actually become job-ready.
So, if you’re eyeing that tech career boost, I’d say KodeKloud Engineer is the secret sauce. It’s not just about learning, it’s about living that tech life.
Chaima, KodeKloud Engineer user from Tunisia said:
“This immersive experience truly sets KodeKloud apart and makes it an invaluable resource for anyone looking to advance their career in the tech industry.”
Qualified KodeKloud Instructors
From whom am I going to learn? This is the most important thing for me. I always wanted to learn from people who have a solid industry level experience.
In that way, KodeKloud is doing great job. They feature instructors with diverse expertise and backgrounds.
You’ll learn from experienced professionals or subject matter experts in their respective fields.
Their instructors are excellent at breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible pieces. This will make the learning process smoother for us.
Mumshad Mannambeth is my personal favourite trainer on KodeKloud. I simply love the way he teach. I first found out about him on a online learning platform called Udemy. And later, I got to know that he is the founder of KodeKloud.
I also enjoyed learning from Sanjeev Thiyagarajan, another fantastic instructor on KodeKloud.
KodeKloud Community Vibes
The KodeKloud community is vibrant, helpful, and enthusiastic.
Through KodeKloud community, we can interact with the fellow learners. It really motivated me to do better than what I would have done as a solo learner. We can collaborate and exchange ideas, find a learning partner and do a lot more useful stuff there.
We do have an opportunity to interact with the instructors and support staff, so it helps us in clearing the doubts.
The KodeKloud community used to be on Slack for a long time.
My experience with the KodeKloud Slack community was good but I felt there is room for improvement here. Sometimes I need to wait for some time to get a proper response from the instructors. Their response time could be a little faster. At times, i also felt that it would be better if there were more live sessions and community engagement directly from the instructors.
But now the KodeKloud Slack community is closed.
In early 2024, KodeKloud launched a new discord server for its community. I must admit this is actually better. The overall community experience has significantly improved.
I get faster responses from the KodeKloud team here. This new KodeKloud Discord community has resolved most of the problems I mentioned earlier.
They have created separate channels inside the discord server for everything like lab support, exam doubts, KK playgrounds, KK engineer, and more. Whenever I have an issue, I just go there and pick the right channel for discussion. So this helps a lot.
One thing that I liked the most about the new KodeKloud community on discord is their study groups. There are groups for CKA, CKAD, and CKS. Weekly live sessions in these study groups are very useful.
KodeKloud Plans & Pricing
There are 3 different plans in KodeKloud: Standard, Pro and Business.
I took KodeKloud Pro plan and I’d also recommend you this because it’ll give access to both KodeKloud premium and pro courses. We can also get access to playgrounds and most importantly access KodeKloud Engineer Pro.
KodeKloud standard plan is cheaper when compared to the pro plan but we’ll get access only to premium courses and labs.
If you want to use KodeKloud for training your company employees, you can opt for KodeKloud business plan. In addition to all pro features, you can get a dedicated DevOps team learning consultant, enterprise dashboard, dedicated account support member, and more.
KodeKloud offers monthly and annual subscription options for all their plans. The pricing for each plan will vary from one country to another. Click on the offer link given below and check it for your region.
Pro TIP: Opt for KodeKloud Pro yearly subscription for best learning experience.
KodeKloud also offers a free plan that allows us to explore a subset of courses and features. This option is great for getting a feel of the KodeKloud platform before committing to a paid plan.

That’s it! There’s no need to go through any complicated hoops or jump through any unnecessary steps. Just send an email and let the KodeKloud support team know you want to cancel and get your money back. They’ll take care of the rest.
Please note that you need to raise your refund request within 30 days. I’d suggest you to use the platform immediately after making your purchase and decide it in one or two weeks. So that you’ll have enough time to get your refund incase if you want it.
Once KodeKloud initiates the refund, it’ll take around 1-2 weeks for the money to reach our bank account.
KodeKloud Platform UI
User interface is really important to have a peaceful learning journey on any platform. So, let’s talk about it.
Kodekloud’s website UI is visually appealing and user-friendly. It is clean and uncluttered, with a modern feel that is easy to navigate. I loved it.
Although there is no KodeKloud app, their website is well designed to work on all devices. I used it on my mobile, laptop and PC. It was simple and easy to use.
KodeKloud labs could be better. It stopped a few times while I was working on the task and I couldn’t find the reason.
Then I have to visit the KodeKloud status page to find out if there’s any issue.
But the good thing is KodeKloud will let us know if the platform is down for maintenance or due to any other problem.
So yes, sometimes I had issues with KodeKloud labs but while watching the video lessons everything worked very well.
TIP: Take the KodeKloud practice labs and playgrounds on desktop or PC for best experience.
KodeKloud Customer Support Experience
KodeKloud excels in providing top-notch customer support.
Their support team seems to have knowledgeable people who are experts in how the platform works.
My personal encounters with KodeKloud’s support team were nothing short of impressive.
I received prompt responses, clear solutions, and saw a genuine eagerness to assist. Whether it was a technical query or payment issue, their team was always ready to lend a helping hand.
KodeKloud Reviews on Trustpilot
I hope my KodeKloud review helps you in finding out if this DevOps training platform is right for you or not.
To add more value and help you make a right decision faster, lets see what my fellow learners are saying about KodeKloud on Trustpilot.
With a remarkable total of 371 reviews, KodeKloud shines with an outstanding score of 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot. Labelled as ‘Excellent,’ this platform has garnered rave reviews, earning an impressive 92% rating of 5 stars.
Almost everyone who took KodeKloud courses loved them!
Only 1% of people gave them a bad review. It came from people who had crash issues with labs and payment issues.
At the end of the day, it’ll all about your own individual experience. Most of us had a good experience, so I can only hope you’ll have the same.
Harsha, KodeKloud user from India said:
“Initially, I started my career in a support role, but later on, as time passed I thought to give it a try on DevOps, that is when I heard of Kode Kloud from my friend. Then I enrolled in the course and started my learnings parallelly with my work life, post completion of the courses I started giving interviews.
In total, I attended four interviews and I cleared all four. Among the four one company offered me a 250% hike with my existing package. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the teachings Mumshad.”
KodeKloud Review: Final Verdict (My Opinion)
Based on my personal experience, I can say that KodeKloud really puts a genuine effort in teaching people, which we can feel only in a handful of online learning platforms.
Their approach is different. They are focussing more and more on practical learning style. And I just love that.
I liked KodeKloud so much that when it was time to renew, I didn’t even have to think. I did it right away because I love learning there.
Here are my thoughts for you.
If you’re a beginner starting your DevOps journey or at an intermediate level, KodeKloud is a fantastic choice! It’s user-friendly and offers comprehensive courses with a supportive community.
And for those who value clarity and want a structured path to understand complex DevOps concepts, KodeKloud is an invaluable resource.
However, if you’re an experienced DevOps professional seeking in-depth knowledge in specific areas, KodeKloud might not be enough. I’d recommend you to check if KodeKloud has an advanced learning program for the topic you’re looking to learn.
Similarly, if you prefer live instructor-led learning more, you might want to look elsewhere.
Before starting your learning journey with KodeKloud, think about your own learning goals and what you need to achieve. This will help you decide if KodeKloud is the right choice for you.
